Apr 13, Laetitia rated it really liked it Shelves: A shipper is born with this I loved the couples forming so freaking much. However, after the end of this one, I expected another book to come out but it did not happen Oct 30, Blackie Williamson rated it it was amazing.
Another great novel from Nancy, the third in this fascinating trilogy. I was spellbound. Jan 15, A rated it liked it. As other readers did I picked this book up without reading any of the others in the series.
However it wasn't hard to piece together things. Pros: I really like the whole vampire society thing. It is different the New Blood and the Old Bloods. Their influence in the every day life of humans. They are known about but it is one of those things "They leave us alone we leave them alone". There is also the whole is someone dies and their birthright isn't claimed then anyone who was chained to them suc As other readers did I picked this book up without reading any of the others in the series.
There is also the whole is someone dies and their birthright isn't claimed then anyone who was chained to them such as servants, powers, etc dies along with that vampire. I also in a campy sort of way enjoy the whole Van Helsing family thing. They are living on years of biaseness and refuse to see that while some vampires are bad not all are, which I think is the point to be honest.
However, it still bothers me. There is a bit of a Romeo and Juliet thing going on and then because of a possibility of darkness Romeo turns into a bit of a dbag. Cons - Set in high schoolish and you can tell. The whole he said she said jealousy petty bs games are obvious everywhere. While I don't mind the influence of high school since this is a YA, the amount of high school influence including relationships is a little overdone. Also some of the characters and their motives are so obvious it kind of hurts.
There is def some 2 dimensional characters, and I know this may have to do with the fact they are in high school. In end, I am not sure I will read the rest of the series.
I might just to see which characters evolve and which ones stay in their horrible ways. Mar 21, Tiffany rated it liked it.
This review is coming from someone who did NOT read the previous volumes in the series: I picked this book up on a whim when several of my friends were reading, or wanting to read, the series. I wanted to know what it was all about, and this was the first one I found, so I figured I'd give it a try. First of all, I had no problem figuring out what was going on.
I may not know every detail, but I had no trouble following the story. So, don't think you absolutely have to start with the first book in This review is coming from someone who did NOT read the previous volumes in the series: I picked this book up on a whim when several of my friends were reading, or wanting to read, the series.
So, don't think you absolutely have to start with the first book in order to read anything from this series. The book does a great job of repeating all the important details you need to know. I found most of the characters to be every bit the stuck-up, entitled, self-absorbed, and shallow brats that the book description basically promised they'd be. The whole concept of vampire teenagers with the same extreme attitude issues as stereotypical rich human teenagers is simultaneously genius and hilarious.
I may even go on the wishlist for the previous ones so I can read them. And as for the next one? Well, I must admit, I AM curious about what happens. View 2 comments. Lilith and Jules relation having been the same since Jules had a affair with Carem one of Lilith's close friend.

Apr 19, Raina rated it did not like it. Basically, this is Gossip-Girl but with vampires. It can be momentarily amusing, however, the label-name-dropping gets so out of hand you feel like you are reading ad copy for a big Madison Avenue firm rather than a mindless YA vampire novel. The characters are completely self absorbed, forgettable and shallow and the plot is basic and doesn't really go anywhere you don't expect it to.
You can anticipate the next move chapters before Nancy Collins writes it. Sadly, it is utterly forgettable and Basically, this is Gossip-Girl but with vampires. Sadly, it is utterly forgettable and a disappointment. This is the third book in the vamps series. The book starts where the last book stops, so it is better to read the other books in these series first.
